The Japanese Parasol Dance is like a Japanese dance with umbrellas. The parasol has been around for about 600 years. Another name for the parasol is "wagasa".The parasol dance comes from shintoism.Shintoism is the spirituality of Japan.The dance is best for girls doing slow shuffling steps that's basic to a typical Japanese dance. The parasol dance is still alive in Japan, but you would rarely find it in Japan.

The costume consists of a (bright) colored kimono, a parasol (umbrella), and getas (similar to clogs). A parasol is made of heavy rice paper, and the handle is made of bamboo. A kimono is a Japanese traditional garment. The kimono has a T-shaped straight lined robes, worn so the hem  falls to the ankles, with attached collars and long, wide sleeves. The geta is a traditional Japanese footwear that resemble clogs, or flip-flops. They're a a kind of sandal with an elevated wooden base.
